Distinguish the islands
Key Largo and Islamorada are different zones. Key West is much farther away and is not included in these published estimates. Provide the full Overseas Highway address and mile marker rather than only Florida Keys.
Plan for limited road alternatives
Busy weekends, incidents and weather can extend travel beyond a normal planning window. The quoted road time excludes baggage collection, rest stops and loading. Do not schedule a fixed excursion immediately after landing.
Agree stops and equipment
Confirm any grocery or rest stop before booking. Diving gear, fishing equipment and large cases can require a larger vehicle even with only a few passengers. Specify both arrival and return loads.
Recheck weather and the return
Use official advisories for disruptive weather. Plan the return from the actual island address and airline deadline, allowing substantially more contingency than a nearby Miami hotel requires.
